Free Disaster Preparedness Seminars in
Thayer and West Plains Jan 31, Feb 1
Ozark Self Reliant Living University’s  4th Annual Disaster Preparedness Seminar will be held  Saturday January 31 9 am to 4:30 pm at the Fun and Friends Senor Center, Thayer, MO  and Sunday February 1from  9 am to 4:30 pm  at the Next Step 7th Day Adventist Church, West Plains, MO according to event organizer Mike Slack.
“The OSLU Disaster Preparedness Seminar is free and is an all-day event. People may come and go as their time allows, both days,” Slack said. “Lunch and drinks are provided for a small donation to cover costs and especially to allow us to stop and start each session on time.”
Topics and speakers Include: Threat Assessment, Physical Preparedness and Social Preparedness, Craig Wiles;  Medicine When There Is No Pharmacy, Dawn McPherson; Protecting  Your Land and Water Both Before and After SHTF, Shekhinah Raziel Golden-Dove Davis;  Sustainable Heating and Cooling and Storm Shelters, Matt Fielack;  Raising Rabbits and Chickens, Cheap and Easy Protein, Judy Dollarhite;  Water Filtration, Making Water Safe to Drink, Judy Dollarhite; Survival Without Shelter or Supplies, Dave Lohr.
“All of our speakers are volunteers who believe in helping others gain knowledge and be prepared for emergencies. And we are very grateful to them for donating their time and  talents,” Slack said. “OSLU was founded and operated by my wife, Deb Slack, who taught monthly classes in Thayer and West Plains, and this seminar is in her memory, to carry on her work.”
