Posted: May 12, 2014 in Water Issues

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is seeking comments on a revised statewide Nonpoint Source Management Plan to protect and improve water quality from nonpoint source pollution. The Plan utilizes a watershed based approach to addressing nonpoint sources of water pollution, based upon partnership and collaboration.

A draft copy of Missouri’s Plan is available for public review and comment at the link below. The public and interested stakeholders are encouraged to participate in this process and provide written comments if they have concerns regarding aspects of the plan or if they would like to provide support for the process. The Department will accept written comments regarding the Nonpoint Source Management Plan through July 8, 2014.

Comments should be submitted to the Department of Natural Resources, Water Protection Program, Watershed Protection Section, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176 or by email to greg.anderson@dnr.mo.gov. Emails should provide contact information of the sender (i.e., name, mailing address, phone number) and include “Nonpoint Source Management Plan” in the subject line.
