Consent of the Governed Rally

The fact is that no matter who holds office in any country, under any type of government, the one thing required for that government to continue is for the people to consent, either via apathy or actual agreement, with the direction that government is taking. If we do our jobs, they have no choice but to do their job as we desire.

Ron Calzone of Missouri First has been heading up that effort in Missouri for years by putting on this rally near the beginning of every legislative session. Here is the info for the Consent of the Governed Rally on Wednesday of next week:

Triple Play on one day!

4th Annual Consent of the Governed Rally

Gun Rights Across America Rally

Annual Presentation of the Locke and Smith Award

After the 2013 Consent of the Governed Rally we did great things together, including passing the strongest nullification of unconstitutional federal edicts since the mid-1800s. The Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) made strides in both 2nd and 10th Amendment protections.

The governor thwarted that effort, but our project caught the imagination of liberty lovers from coast to coast and other states are using the same tools to fight federal intrusion in several areas. What’s more, we have a promise from senate leadership that they will expedite the 2014 version of that bill.

(After the rally, there will be a Q&A time to discuss the 2014 version of SAPA.)

SAPA wasn’t the only grass roots activists’ bill thwarted by the governor. Other bills protecting property rights and constitutional principles fell prey to the veto pen — we need all hands on deck if we are to muster the support needed to pass these bills again and override vetoes in 2014.

And this year we have the special challenge of killing Common Core in Missouri!

Please check out the partial list of issue updates to be presented at this year’s rally. Plan on spending the day at the Capitol and bring a friend or two!
