Lt Governor Peter Kinder will speak to the Commonsense Property Rights Coalition at 6 pm, Monday, July 8 at the Spring Dipper Ice Cream Restaurant and Jilly’s Diner in Mammoth Spring. Topics for the meeting will be the White River Blue Way, and the Department of Revenue concealed carry, driver’s license and Real ID issue. Kinder is a proponent of privacy rights and is one of several public figures to maintain that the Department of Revenue violated state law by sending the private information of Missouri citizens to third parties in Georgia. A committee formed by Speaker of the House Tim Jones is conducting hearings on the matter in the capital in Jefferson City.

State Representative Jeff Pogue will also address the group concerning the last legislative session and the Department of Revenue. Representative Pogue sent a letter to the Secretary of the Interior last week objecting to the Blue Way designation, asking that it be revoked. Representatives from Senator Roy Blunt and Congressman Jason Smith will attend and update the group on combined Congressional efforts to stop the Blue Way designation. Senator Blunt and Congressman Smith along with 7th District Congressman Billy Long joined their colleagues on the Arkansas Congressional Delegation last week in seeking a stop to the Blue Way in a joint letter they issued to the Secretary of the Interior.

All are welcome to attend. For more information call 417-264-2435 or 417-270-1724.
