We cordially invite everyone to attend a special meeting at Ava Victory Academy (between Taco Bell and McDonald’s) Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 7:00 pm where Representative Lyle Rowland will discuss his recently introduced House Bill 42. This legislation, if passed, will help prevent Agenda 21 and other UN plans to regulate the State of Missouri including Douglas County. Also speaking will be Doreen Hannes, a leader of the Ozarks Property Rights Coalition. (For more information about this organization visit their website at prcnews.org/).

What is Agenda 21? The terms “sustainability”, “smart growth” and “rural development” are often found in today’s society. A few years ago these were terms that no one had ever really heard of. Now, they are being so overused that their true meanings have become obscure. They show up in the news, advertisements, and public announcements. Unbeknownst to many, the source of these terms is the United Nations and their plans to “manage” the world one small city and one county at a time. Briefly, these plans call for governments to take control of all land leaving none of the decision-making in the hands of private owners. they assume that people are not good stewards of their own land and that the government can do a better job. Individual rights are to give way to the needs of the communities as determined by the governing body.

Using our own tax dollars, Federal and State agencies have illegally created hundreds of grant programs to advance this global agenda instead of implementing the plans laid down by the people and Congress. On the surface, these programs seem beneficial to the community. They even seem logical and helpful. However, they often come with strings and obligations that leave local governments with little future choice but to raise taxes, take freedoms, and control land use.

Many small governments recognize the hook within the bait and refuse to participate in these programs or take their money. However, many larger cities, like Kansas City and Saint Louis, unintentionally destroy private property rights, increase regulations, and put restrictions on themselves and the people because they are not educated on what Agenda 21 is and looks like. Here is a list of some of the programs and terms to watch for that could possibly have Agenda 21 as their root goal:

Sustainable Development, Smart Growth, Wildlands Project, Resilient Cities, Regional Visioning Projects, STAR Sustainable Communities, Green Building Codes, Regional Planning, Historic Preservation Programs, Scenic Highway Programs, Conservation Easements, Development Rights, Sustainable Farming, Comprehensive Planning, Growth Management and others.

Please attend to learn all you can of the great deceptions that may have already come or may be headed to your county, and bring your questions. There will be experts on Agenda 21 there to help answer your questions and concerns.

The terms “sustainability”, “smart growth” and “rural development” are terms….not words, that make me cringe and at times my skin to crawl.
It’s so sad that too many people first, don’t know the difference between terms and words; and second, they have no grasp on the enormous scope of intrusion Agenda 21 is intending to bring into everybody’s lives.
